* Chicory and Tofu have been adopted by their foster home! Yay! *

A citizen came into Hamilton Animal Control carrying a large Rubbermaid bin containing three adult cats that they claimed they had found. It was pretty clear that Chicory and Tofu were brothers, and the third cat was likely not related. Strangely, Chicory and the other cat were already neutered but Tofu was not.
After waiting out their stray time, the third cat went into HAC’s pilot adoption program through PetSmart, and he was quickly adopted. Chicory and Tofu are friendly cats, but they would have been too shy to be in a store environment. And likely too big for the cages there! These are big boys!
At the shelter, Chicory and Tofu were never far from each other. They were always curled up together or at least within paw’s reach of one another. We’re glad they had each other to get them through the stressful time they spent at the shelter. They have a very strong bond that is so sweet to see…

We rescued Chicory and Tofu from HAC and took them straight to the vet. They both received a clean bill of health during their check-ups and Tofu was neutered. They’re now settling in at their foster home and doing well so far.
