Henderson
Henderson has been adopted by Dr. Martin of Animal Hospital of Stoney Creek. Yay!
Henderson was found outside on the street, alone and limping. A concerned citizen called Hamilton Animal Control. Officers came to pick Henderson up and they brought him to one of the vet clinics they work with. Turns out, Henderson has a severely broken back leg. The vets thought by the looks of the bone that the break was old. Poor Henderson had been living in severe pain for quite a while. We transferred Henderson to our vets and they had the same thoughts about it being a past injury. Poor Henderson!
Because of the severity of the break and Henderson’s age, both vets thought the best course of action for his long-term well being would be to amputate the leg. Henderson had his amputation surgery on November 21st and he came through it like a champ. He’s managing very well on three legs so far! He’s giving everyone he meets lots of purrs and happy feet. Such a lovely little guy!
Henderson stayed at the clinic for a couple of days before being transferred to his foster home. He’s doing fantastic so far on three legs, and he’s loving up everyone he meets!
Big thanks to everyone at Animal Hospital of Stoney Creek and to Henderson’s foster home for taking care of Henderson so well!
Welcome Henderson! We’re gonna see you through this!
