Boris
* Boris found his forever home with lovely people! *
Boris arrived at Hamilton Animal Services with a large wound on his head. He was suffering from entropion (an eye issue) and he very much needed to be neutered. Notice the “big ol’ tom cat” giant head and cheeks! So adorable!
We rescued Boris and took him to Guelph Animal Hospital for treatment. Boris was neutered and his eye issues corrected, thanks to Dr. Fleming at the clinic. Boris tested positive for FIV, but he’s doing okay. He has a bit of medication left over from his vet visit for an upper respiratory virus he picked up at the shelter, but he’s otherwise healthy and happy.
The wound on his head has healed, but the fur doesn’t seem to want to grow back over it, so he’ll always have a scar. He’s still a very handsome boy to us though!
Boris is a big love bug, and he’d love to find a forever home where he can be the centre of attention and soak up all the sunbeams in the house!
Here’s a note from Boris’ foster home:
“Boris loves food! He was a bit thin when he came to us, with a rather large head but he has filled out nicely and his coat has become soft and shiny. He has come to resemble a regal panther!
He is very affectionate, not only with us but with anyone who visits. Not shy at all around people. But he also seems content just hanging around on his own as long as he’s near a person. He was pretty quiet at first but in the last couple of weeks has started to purr and be more vocal at feeding time or when it’s time for pets. He’s very attentive when you talk to him and he loves to greet us at the door every time we come home.
He’s playful, but in short bursts as clearly it’s more fun to nap or cuddle. He quite likes to lie on his side and bat around a ball in a ring, especially if a bit of catnip is involved. Really, a very chill and loving cat.”
July 2019 Update from Boris’ adopters!
“Hello Ladybirds,
We though we would send an update on Boris, the very special cat we adopted one year ago yesterday from Ladybird Animal Sanctuary. I will attach some pictures that we have taken over the last year(though we don’t actually take many pictures).
After welcoming Boris into our family last year it took him all of 4 hours to settle in. We have made sure to give him only the best love and affection we can, and he has done the same in return. Everyone loves Boris! We get asked by friends and family all of the time “How is Boris doing?!” We have never met a cat with such a vibrant and unique personality as Boris. He loves to explore new parts of our apartment that he has not explored before (This month he discovered the top of the fridge where he can supervise us while cooking and cleaning). We can always look forward to seeing Boris greet us at the door when we come home and politely request food when we wake up in the morning. He is very happy and healthy as we expect him to be for years to come.
Sincerely,
