Boots
* Boots found his forever home with a lovely person! *
Boots ended up at Hamilton Animal Services when his owner passed away.
As you can see in the video, Boots has deformed front legs, but he gets around just fine.
We got Boots the dental surgery he needed, and his legs were x-rayed. Our vets think the leg deformity isn’t an issue now, but he may develop arthritis at some point. Boots definitely needs to lose a few pounds, so he’s on a special weight loss diet now, but not on any medications.
Boots would likely do best as the only cat in the home. He is not a fan of dogs.
Here’s a report from Boots’ foster home:
“Boots is an old gentleman who sometimes has spurts of youthful vigour when there are cat toys involved.
He has begun to be more active, climbing on the back of the couch and grooming your head.
He was greasy and dandruffy when we first got him, but now his coat is coming back nice and he is much happier. He still runs for his closet when someone comes to door, but comes back out to say hi.
He is a big boy and his purr matches his size. He has taken to sleeping in the closet on top of bins, even though there are multiple soft places to sleep. He will gently paw you to ask for pets.
Boots is a wonderful cat, who is growing more active and friendly each day.. With enough time, he might even become a lap cat!”
