Mason
* Mason found his forever home with amazing people! Yay! *
Mason came into Hamilton Animal Services as a stray. This poor guy was suffering from rodent ulcers in his mouth, and he had two large open lesions on his side. His teeth were pretty bad, he definitely needed to be neutered, and to top it all off, he (SNAP) tested positive for FIV.
Mason was unfortunately on the euthanasia list because of these issues, but his extra friendly personality prompted a kind HAS staff member to contact us to see if we could help.
We were happy to get this sweet guy out of the shelter and straight to the vet for treatment. Mason is currently in the very capable hands of Dr. McGowan and her staff at Glanbrook Veterinary Services. There, he was neutered, and had four rotten teeth removed. A more comprehensive test confirmed he is FIV positive, but the diagnosis certainly hasn’t slowed him down. He’s such a happy guy!
Because of his FIV status, Dr. McGowan has him on Optixcare Lysine chews to help boost his immune system. He’s also on a daily probiotic called Forti Flora for occasional diarrhea. He may likely need both these supplements on a regular bases due to his health condition. He’s otherwise healthy, happy and ready to find his forever home!
Here’s a note from the staff at Glanbrook Veterinary Services, where Mason is being fostered:
“Meet Mason the friendliest cat in the world!!
Mason is extremely friendly, and snuggly. He loves to be around people and loves to play. He loves dogs, and is okay with other cats, with proper introductions.
Mason is patiently waiting for a very special someone, who will give him a loving forever home, and who will be able to handle all his love he can give them. He is a special cat, who is looking for a special person (or people!) to call his own.”
