Surrendering Animals
Ladybird does not take in strays or
owner surrender animals from the public.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but we currently do not have the volunteer resources to respond to the volume of email requests we receive regarding strays and owner surrenders.
We exclusively rescue animals from shelters in Ontario and Quebec. Because a shelter is often the very last stop for a homeless animal who faces threat of euthanasia, Ladybird chose to only rescue from these shelters when we established our official charitable mandate in 2011.
There are several local rescue groups who do offer help in re-homing stray and owned animals. To make things easier for everyone, we’ve compiled a list of links to many of these great organizations in our Resources section.
