Tippy
Sweet mom Tink and her three kittens were marked for euthanasia at Hamilton Animal Control. The kittens were born in the shelter on June 7th, 2010, and they were taken into foster care on June 9th. This cat family would have been put to sleep the next day if they had not been rescued.
The smallest kitten was showing signs of being unhealthy at the shelter, and 12 or so hours after being rescued, he passed away. The other two kittens seemed to be doing well, but a week or so later, despite emergency measures by the foster home, another kitten died of unknown causes. Tink really was a wonderful mom, but after a visit to the vet with her remaining kitten, it was discovered she wasn’t producing enough milk. The foster home did some supplemental feeding with the kitten, and over the next few weeks he kept healthy and he thrived.
When Tippy was old enough to eat on his own, his mom was spayed at the Newmarket Low-Cost Spay Neuter Clinic and she went to a new wonderful home in Oakville. She was re-named “Ellafitzgerald” and her new owners love her to bits.
Tippy didn’t have to go too far to find his home, as his foster parents decided to keep him! He was also fixed at the Spay Neuter Clinic and is enjoying life in his new home with lots of cat and dog friends to play with.
