Updates updates updates!

Charlie shaved
Updates updates updates! This is a big one…here we go!

Charlie!
Surgery today was a success. Charlie’s teeth were so bad, the vet had to remove every last one of them. The infection was so advanced, it was going up into his nose. Poor guy must have been in a lot of pain for a long time! While he was under anesthetic, the vet neutered him and removed the growth over his eye. It was a tough surgery, but he’s recovering well. He’ll stay at the clinic for a few days to be sure everything is okay. The staff also discovered that Charlie is stone cold deaf. As if he didn’t have enough problems!

Bitsy!
Since her dental and spay surgery, Bitsy has had to go back to the vet a couple of times because she was coughing excessively. She is much improved, but is still coughing a little. Her medication is done now, so her foster family will be keeping an eye on her to see if the coughing subsides, or if she’ll need to be on a long term medication. Otherwise, Bitsy has come out of her shell and is prancing and hopping around her foster home like a puppy! She LOVES to eat and is happy for any treats that happen to come her way. Hopefully she’ll be able to be available for adoption soon!

Sky!
Remember the lovely black kitten who fell from the balcony of an apartment building and broke both of her back legs? Well, her surgeries were a complete success and she is almost 100% healed! The best news though…Sky has been adopted by one of the staff at the vet clinic where she was treated! Yay Sky!!

Elsa!
Little Elsa the rat developed a lump last month and she had surgery to remove it this past Tuesday. She’s recovering well and is happy to be back with her two sisters in her foster home.

Felix!
We rescued Felix in early December, and he’s been charming everyone he meets in his foster home since then. Such a sweet boy! Today, Felix had a dental surgery that included six extractions. He did really well during surgery and he’s back in his foster home to recover. Felix will be available for adoption soon!

Cheesecake!
Last Saturday, poor Cheesecake had another flare up with liver issues and an infection. She ended up back at the vet for blood work and xrays. Thankfully her foster mom caught it early enough that Cheesecake didn’t get as horribly sick as she did last time this happened. (her foster mom affectionally called her lemon Cheesecake because she turned so yellow last time she got sick!) Cheesecake is feeling much better since being on the medication, and she’ll have a follow up appointment soon. It is likely that we will make Cheesecake a permanent resident since it seems that these issues will be ongoing. We’ll know better once we’ve spoken to the vet.

Phew! There you go! You’re all updated on the goings on at Ladybird.
